I first heard about Harmony ministry about seven months ago. I have a sister and a daughter who are lesbians. Before coming to the group, I was confused and unsure how to relate to my gay loved ones. After the first meeting, I felt equipped as well as much more compassionate. Initally it was difficult to even say " my daughter is gay". I felt as if it was a statement that would somehow condone her behavior. Now I am aware that spiritual battles are won through prayer and that one of the first things we must face as parents and conquer is denial. God knows how to reach people from where they stand. I am going to leave it in His hands. The support that I receive from Harmony Ministry is teaching me how.

Harmony

Harmony is a confidential support group for families with homosexual loved ones. It is a safe place for you to learn more about homosexuality, gain insight for practically caring for your loved one, and get the support you need personally. We are not here to change you or your loved one, but rather come alongside you to share your burdens through prayer, support and looking into God's Word for comfort.

We know that it can be heart-wrenching to learn that a loved one is affected by homosexuality. Friends and family need just as much care and support as the child, spouse, parent, sibling or friend who is gay-identified or struggling with same-sex attractions.

Purpose Statement...

Reconciling people to Christ by:

  • evangelizing the lost
  • renewing relationships to Christ, by offering support and encouragement through God's Word, fellowship, and prayer
  • renewing relationships with our loved ones
  • and doing this all one person at a time

"Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance." James 1:2-3
